I met Miss Mabel Kate at her gorgeous home in Fayetteville and was greeted by the most welcoming and sincere little family. Her big brother was beaming with pride over his very own baby sister and mom and dad were completely smitten with their little princess. I absolutely loved being able to spend the morning in their love-filled home, creating these priceless photographs of their beautiful newborn babe.

Allow me to introduce to you little Mabel Kate and a little of her beautiful story as told by her mom.

“We wanted our son Bo to be the one to tell the news. Mabel Kate was supposed to be a Valentine’s baby so we tied a bunch of heart balloons to Bo’s tricycle with a sign that said ‘Big Bro.’ He was beaming!! We sent the pic to friends and family.”

“We found out the gender at our 16 week appt. I knew this would be our last baby and the girly girl part of me desperately wanted the world of ballet classes and hair bows and all of the fun frilly things that come with having a girl.”

“My grandmother’s name was Mabel. She was the sweetest, most wonderful, God-fearing woman. We came up with Mabel Kate as a way to honor my Nana, but still give MK her own little southern spin by adding Kate. Double first names are my favorite!”

“Decorating Mabel Kate’s nursery was hands down the most fun project I’ve ever done. That’s where I spent most of my time and energy. I loved shopping for her nursery and getting it just right. It’s still my favorite room in the house.”

“MK came 2 weeks early. I had been feeling off all weekend. I started having contractions late Sunday afternoon and she was here by 8:20 that night. It was a shorter labor but super intense. My husband is the most calm and cool guy. As an ER doc, he’s seen it all and never sweats anything, but I could tell this fast labor even had him a little anxious. We live 4 miles from the hospital and I swear to you from driveway to hospital parking lot took all of 30 seconds!”

“I expected Mabel Kate to look like her brother. I just assumed most newborn babies look alike. But even brand new she had her own look. She was absolutely perfect and gorgeous.”

“The best advice was to realize everything is a phase. The lack of sleep, the crying, the craziness of the newborn stage will pass. You know that phrase that’s something like ‘the days are long but the years are short’ that is so very true. Just take a step back and soak it in.”

**Her sweet mama had her little girly girl all set with this adorable fresh floral halo that she had specially made by PIGMINT Floral Studio in Fayetteville. It was the sweetest girly tough and matched the floral decor in her nursery perfectly.
